DURA Outdoor Pickleballs also known as DURA Fast 40 Pickleballs are the original seamless plastic whiffle ball specially designed for pickleball by "the company that invented the game" Pickle-Ball, Inc. They are designed to perform well in outdoor conditions but can be used both indoors and outdoors.They have thick walls to increase the life span and playability of the ball in rough outdoor conditions. The ball is made by injecting hot liquid plastic into a mold. The mold is closed and rotated multi-directionally to spread the plastic evenly around the walls of the mold creating a strong one piece ball. When the mold has stopped spinning it is opened and the new ball is removed from the mold. Sometimes there is a minor parting line from the seam of the mold, this is not a true seam and does not affect the play or durability of the ball. Look inside the ball and you will not see a seam. Once the plastic has cooled and hardened 40 holes of two sizes are post-drilled into the ball. This patented hole configuration was engineered for strength as well as performance providing a ball that bounces and flies true even in outdoor conditions. Weighing 0.92 ounces these balls fly straight even in windy conditions. The weight also makes them a fast ball, compared to the softer and lighter Jugs Indoor Pickleball or other injection molded balls. The ball measures 2.9375” in diameter. The ball has an average bounce height of 32”, promising lively response to every hit.
